Hira Singh Bhullar

Education: Bachelor’s of Engineering (Computer Science & Engineering), MGM College of Engineering, MH India
Occupation: Senior Software Developer, Starbucks Corporate Headquarters

Statement:
We can build a thriving city in Kent by making our diversity a strength, creating good jobs that support families and providing our kids with every opportunity to succeed. We can help by electing a city council that reflects all of Kent and empowers every resident to participate. That's why I'm running.

As a volunteer teacher in the local Punjabi school and a software developer at Starbucks, I have seen how investments in high-quality programs and products result in success. My priority as your council member will be to support programs and policies that build strong communities: after-school programs, summer teen job opportunities, apprentice programs, and making early education accessible and affordable.

I’m excited to get to work using my experience in business and as a community leader to make our city stronger for everyone. Kent is a place I am proud to call home, let’s make it better together.

Education: Bachelor of Science, University of Delaware; Master of Business Administration, Southern Illinois University
Occupation: Retired; Business capture consultant 14 years; Retired USAF Lt. Colonel

Statement:

I possess the expertise necessary for a council member. As an aircrew member I learned the value of teamwork for accomplishing the mission; the importance of communications during my time as a duty controller in a command post. My position as a contract division chief provided me with contract requirements and finance experience by managing $4 billion of contracts. As a business capture consultant I planned programs worth hundreds of millions with firm budgets and schedules. Finally, my 19+ years of living in Kent has made me aware of our city's values and culture.

Kent has a growing and vibrant multi-cultural population, beautiful parks, and numerous small businesses providing jobs to our citizens. Kent also needs improvements in several areas. I look forward to working with other council members contributing to Kent's continued growth and prosperity. I would appreciate your vote to represent the people, businesses, and your tax dollars.

Education: Kent School District, Studied at Green River Community College
Occupation: Currently a Consultant and Small Business Owner, former State Employee

Statement:

I am running to serve you on the Kent City Council because I know we can do more to make Kent a great place to live. I was born here, raised here and plan to start my own family here. I will work hard to make government more accountable and ensure our residents have a seat at the table.

I’m the only candidate in this race who donates time and money on a weekly basis to ensure our kids and families get the support they need. We don’t need another politician, we need a community leader who walks the talk. I love our City and will work hard every day to make Kent even better.

I’m supported by neighborhood leaders, labor, firefighters, police officers and community leaders who know we can do better. The most important support I can have is yours, I would be honored to have your vote.
