Statement:

I have been privileged to serve as Kirkland Municipal Court Judge  since 2006.  For 21 years prior to becoming a judge, I was an experienced trial attorney, trying hundreds of cases -- both as a prosecutor and as a defense lawyer -- ranging from theft and DUI to rape, kidnapping, and murder.  I live in Kirkland and have strong connections to the community.  My two adult daughters also live nearby.  Most people first encounter the judicial system at the Municipal Court level.  I think it is important that judges serving these community courts have the kind of deep experience I have brought to the bench. The citizens deserve nothing less.  During my judicial career, I have continuously worked to improve access to justice and court efficiency, and have served as Co-Chair of the State’s Board of Judicial Administration.  I would be honored to serve Kirkland for another four years.
