We are fortunate that island citizens approved the formation of the Vashon Parks District, separate and distinct from King County Parks, 35 years ago, giving direct control of the district’s facilities to the Vashon community. I’ve been honored to serve as a VPD commissioner since 2016 and look forward to another four years of service to the island.

In my second term I will be guided by the following priorities: (1) ensuring that the citizen-directed, data-driven strategic plan developed by the board over the past few years is kept current as the community’s wants and needs change, and (2) maintaining, repairing, and augmenting existing facilities and programs consistent with that plan
