2019 general election
King County Fire Protection District 40
Commissioner Position 4
I’m honored to serve as your current Fire Commissioner for the last eight years and I’m asking for your vote to allow me to continue serving. The citizens and families in Fire District 40 deserve to continue receiving high quality, efficient and cost-effective emergency services. I’m proud that our CPR save rate is the highest in the world.
My 31 years as a professional firefighter, 6 years as a training officer, and 17 years as a Fire Commissioner in two different districts have supplied me with the knowledge and experience necessary to ensure our community continues to receive outstanding fire and life safety services. My focus remains on fiscal responsibility, customer service, transparency and responsible management of your fire department. When seconds count, it’s my responsibility to make sure highly qualified responders arrive quickly and deliver the help you need. I’d appreciate your continued support and vote November 5th.
As a resident of Fairwood, I look forward to using my professional experience to strengthen the safety and future of KCFD #40. I am concerned with the current direction our Fire District is headed. There has been a recent reduction of staffing for Engine 17 from 4 to 3 firefighters. Also earlier this year the Commissioners signed a letter of intent to break their contract with the Renton Fire Authority (RFA) to possibly pursue other options of emergency and fire protection services. I find this concerning because I don’t think the safety of our community should be sent out to bid. This could lead to another reduction or change of service. I have a young family and will be raising them in Fairwood for the next 20 years.
I am proudly endorsed by the Renton Fire Department #864 and the Bellevue Fire Department #1604. I would appreciate your vote.
