Occupation: Fire Captain & Training Officer
Statement:

For the last 11 years, I have watched our fire district struggle with maintaining levels of service, functional relationships, and increased taxes, all of which point to the lack of a long-range plan. This needs to change.

As one of your Fire Commissioners, I plan to bring a relational approach, engaging my experience to help the district to think strategically on service levels. Now is the time to repair relationships and study the need for increased staffing, replacing aging and outdated equipment and facilities, and leveraging relationship between all stakeholders, to meet the long-term needs of our community.

Occupation: Retired Boeing 36 years, retired Firefighter 1, EMT, 21 years
Statement:

I volunteered with Mountain View in 1999. My experience with the department and my extensive career at Boeing has provided me with skills and insight that will make me a great commissioner. At Boeing, I was a Union Steward, Manager, Certified Quality Auditor and an FAA interface. At Mountain View I was a home responder, an EMT and lastly a Company Officer that was responsible for firefighters assigned to our Green Valley Station.

I have volunteered many hours with our department; training new recruits, special events and interviewed recruit and Fire Chief Candidates. I have been at calls throughout our district. I understand the demographics of our diverse community and its potential opportunities. I also understand we provide a service to our community and keeping costs in check is important.

As one of your fire commissioners, I will utilize my skills and experience for our fire department and our community.
