2019 general election
King County Fire Protection District 27
Commissioner Position 2
Fall City resident since 1994. I’ve volunteered in community programs and events for the last 25 years. I’ve served as Fire Commissioner since 2004, bringing my business perspective to managing our department.
I support our career and volunteer firefighters as well as transparency in the District’s business. I stood my ground during merger discussions, believing that we needed a complete and unbiased analysis of proposed options for our department’s future. Special interest should not railroad their interest over that of our community and fire department.
It’s time to move forward and continue a 75-year legacy of great service to our community. Hire 12th career firefighter and increase training. Continue our model volunteer program. I’ll continue supporting the relationship we share with Duvall and Snoqualmie Fire and our mutual aid agreement with Eastside Fire. Together, let’s build a strong and independent fire department to serve our community. I appreciate your vote.
I began my career volunteering in a rural Fire District, much like Fall City. I fought wildland fire during college, then began at Bellevue Fire 16 years ago where I proudly serve today; completed Harborview’s Medic One Paramedic training program in 2016, and now also protect the Snoqualmie Valley, including Fall City; holding numerous certifications in fields of emergency services, as well as being our neighborhood HOA President.
I've witnessed firsthand the struggles Fire District 27 is having; budget shortfalls, aging equipment, staffing problems, and more. As someone with fire service experience, I would bring this missing perspective to the commissioner board. Together, we can build a stronger fire district that will keep our families safe.
I will bring leadership, knowledge and experience to this position. This is an important time as we seek a new Fire Chief and set the direction for the next generation in Fall City.
