2019 general election
Kent School District 415
Director District 1
I’ve been a Kent resident for a culmination of 27 years, attended Kent Schools and have children in the KSD. Being involved in Early Learning advocacy has given me the chance to make a difference in the lives of children and families in the state. I want to continue to stand up for children and families at district level, through thoughtful oversight, budget transparency, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
My community leader journey started with working as a reading and Special Education paraprofessional in Kansas. I’ve served on the Parent Policy Council and Leadership Team for Puget Sound ESD, where I was Vice Co Chair for ECEAP and Secretary. I also advocate for children with Save the Children Action Network and was asked by Kent Youth and Family Services to attend the Gates Foundation Math Roadmaps training as a parent representative.
As a KSD parent, and community advocate for Cascade Homes, I’ve made it my goal to see our diverse neighborhood and children succeed by receiving all the supports that are desperately needed.
As a Board Member, my focus will include: Additional support for behavioral health, family support and engagement, special education, after school programs and and longer school lunches.
