Statement:

Mike Jacobs has the background, experience and the established commitment to serve our community as a Shoreline School Board Director. During his tenure the District has focused on achieving equity for all students, diversifying staff, placing equity leads in each building, begun a dual language program, and implemented fully inclusive early learning.  The District is financially stable and has constructed two high schools, the Edwin Pratt Early Learning Center and is constructing two middle schools and an elementary school. The projects are on budget and on time.  

 

Mike and his wife, Janelle, and their children graduated from Shorewood. Mike and his family are active in the community and Mike has received several commendations from the community, including PTA's Outstanding Advocate and Outstanding Service, Turbo-Booster, and the Little League Award of Excellence.

 

Mike will continue to ensure that our exceptional District provides a first-class education for each one of our students.

Statement:

I am a Meridian Park Elementary parent and have served as the PTA Board Secretary since 2017. I actively volunteer in our classrooms and I know firsthand how critical teacher support is to the success of our students.

 

As a health researcher, I understand the structural forces outside of the classroom that impact student readiness. I’m committed to ensuring that all our students have access to a rigorous and innovative educational experience. I will prioritize equity in our classrooms and accountability with your tax dollars.

 

Let’s continue to build on the success of our district by leading the region in environmentally-sustainable growth and immersive learning that prepares our students for success.
