Renton School District 403
Director District 4
I am a proud Skyway resident and Renton School District parent; I know our kids deserve a world class education no matter where they are raised. Currently, District 4 children and families are being left behind. Families choose between rent and childcare, many students feel unsafe at school, and educators and staff feel unsupported. The Renton School District needs strong leadership and positive change.
Every young child deserves a high quality early education. I advocated at the state and national level to secure funding and expand access for early learning. When I am elected I will work with local officials to ensure affordable early learning and childcare is available for all Renton families.
Students, teachers, and support staff deserve to feel physically and emotionally safe in our schools regardless of where they come from. I will work hard to ensure that our schools are hate free zones and have the resources they need to be safe places of teaching and learning for all. I will promote an equitable and inclusive vision for the Renton School District and do what matters most for our students and teachers. I would be honored to have your vote.

I am seeking re-election for a second term on the Renton School Board to help our District sustain and expand the progress we have made. Together with my fellow Board Members and the District’s Leadership Team, we have achieved many key accomplishments. We opened two new buildings. In 2017, Risdon became our District’s fourth middle school and Sartori Elementary School - our District’s first choice school - opened in 2018. The implementation of the Renton Innovation Zone is another key success. This initiative is garnering national attention because of the innovative teaching approaches and commitment to authentic partnerships with families and the community. We selected a new Superintendent whose leadership, values, and experience will serve our District and community well for years to come.
Looking to the future, a continued area of focus is to find ways to meet the unique needs of our students. If re-elected, I will continue to listen to the voices of our community and dedicate my time and passion to serving our 16,000+ students. It is our ultimate goal to ensure a quality education for our students - one that will enable them to transition to a successful future. Thank you for your support.
