Since 2007, as a member of the Highline School Board, I have tried to remain steadfast in my commitment to always use the broadest lens possible. By that, I mean that with every decision we make, every policy we adopt, every interaction with the community, I make my very best effort to think deeply about the impact on ALL of our students, staff and families. Our district has made, and will continue to make, tremendous strides in our work towards equity, increasing our graduation rates and providing options that meet the needs of each individual student. I promise to continue to represent you in this endeavor to the best of my ability.

I believe it is incredibly important that we conduct ourselves, as board members and citizens, in ways that model what we hope for from our students. It is impossible to make decisions that make everyone happy, but that should never stop us from listening to everyone’s point of view. In this time more than any other in my life and in many of yours, we need to show the next generation that we can agree, we can disagree, and we can work towards compromise. I appreciate your support.
