Education: Bachelor of Science, Biology, Lafole College of Education, Mogadishu, Somalia
Occupation: Resident Services Coordinator, Sustainable Housing for Ageless Generation (SHAG)
Statement:

I want our children safe and healthy, our young adults connected to opportunity and our seniors active in the community. As a social worker for sixteen years I’ve helped thousands of people, of every background, by listening to their needs and connecting them to resources. I will do the same when elected - I will be in the community listening and acting on your concerns.

Here are my priorities. Affordable Housing: by committing city land and resources to more housing choices. Family Friendly Neighborhoods: by supporting parks, safe routes to schools, and traffic calming. Jobs and Economy: by helping small businesses, getting better transit routes to community colleges, and carefully managing spending and taxes.

I left hardship and raised my family in America because here people of diverse backgrounds can succeed together. My career has been helping people and building community - I would love to work for SeaTac.

Statement:

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your Councilmember and Mayor, thank you for the opportunity to help improve SeaTac.

In 2015 my goal was to return an open, honest council to our City.  Goal met, but our work continues.

My vision for SeaTac is simple:  Government that belongs to the people, not beholden to outside interests.  Responsive servant leaders committed to the well-being of everyone.   Preserving the character of our neighborhoods, revitalizing our communities and improving our quality of life. A competent, inclusive council focused on community, open dialogue, and careful stewardship of your tax dollars.  A safe, secure and beautiful city with something to offer anyone who calls SeaTac home. My council record demonstrates my care and commitment to our City.  I ask for your vote to continue serving you through fair and responsible leadership.
