2019 general election
City of North Bend
Council Position 5
When I ran for City Council in 2015, I was motivated to bring about greater transparency and improved communications between the City and the citizens. To do this, I kept to three simple principles: reengage, refresh, and revitalize the City’s relationship with and perspective about the community.
Here are just few successes worth mentioning: created a communications manager position to keep the public up-to-date with City actions, improved signage on proposed development to make it easier to understand what is happening and where, increased town hall and public outreach on major community decision points, and fought to save over 30 acres of land on Rattlesnake Mountain for recreational purposes.
With ~1000 new homes coming, we must be strategic about our city resources, push for smart commercial growth, increase land preservation initiatives, complete our trail and sidewalk systems, and maintain our transparency. With your vote, I will continue in this capacity.
