I have served as a Newcastle city council member since 2016 and as deputy mayor since 2018.

I have consistently supported important council work shaping Newcastle. This work has resulted in the addition of new amenities including healthcare facilities, restaurants and road safety improvements such as new sidewalks and traffic calming measures. I supported the purchase of the City Hall building which has resulted in a significant cost reduction and eliminated high rent expenditures. I also supported regulations to downtown development that preserve our inviting, small community feel. I am a strong advocate of public safety. I will continue to support funding required to maintain police staffing levels to ensure our community remains safe with low crime statistics.
