Education: B.A. in American Studies, Minor in Politics, UW, summa cum laude; Kentwood High School
Occupation: Community Volunteer; Kent Parks and Recreation Commissioner; Army Veteran
Statement:

As a longtime resident, volunteer, mother, veteran, police officer spouse, and former KSD employee, I have a strong grasp on Kent’s challenges and have a proven record of advocating for our city’s residents. After recent gun violence in my neighborhood, I worked with city leaders and residents to address public safety concerns. I also urged councilmembers to stop the sale of Pine Tree Park and increase transparency surrounding the sale of public lands.

As your councilmember, I will advocate for you by prioritizing: Public Safety: Emphasizing community policing, ensuring officers are in our neighborhoods and parks, talking with residents, and tackling property and violent crime. Homelessness: Take strides to reduce homelessness and keep Kent safe by ensuring timely cleanups of illegal encampments. Parks and Recreation: Invest and protect our parks, open spaces, and recreational opportunities. Fiscal Conservation: Carefully consider budget decisions and keep taxes low.

I appreciate your vote!
