As a 17yr resident and dedicated family man, my wife, Yvonne, and I live here with our daughters, Natalie 13yr & Lilah 11yr. I am a loyal community steward and an active member of multiple City and Charitable Foundation Events and Programs.

During my 6yrs on the council, I have worked to simplify processes, refine regulations & ordinances and update building & zoning codes to attract and retain businesses and jobs in Des Moines.

My focus will always be to encourage business development and economic growth in our community. Support government services that keep our community safe and running smoothly. Capitalize on our waterfront and marina, promoting Des Moines as a “Destination City” for visitors, residents and businesses. Continue to build relationships with residents and businesses to understand their concerns and ensure their views are represented. Endorsed by Des Moines Police Guild and South King County Professional Firefighters Local 2024.

Des Moines has experienced a lot of growth since I moved here 28 years ago. We need to genuinely embrace all communities within our city. With your support, I intend to continue making a positive impact just as I did while serving on the Des Moines City Council from 2001-2009. Public Safety remains a huge concern and I will advocate for a safer Des Moines, promote a thriving downtown, revive our parks, support seniors and youth, as well as strive to make the Marina District a destination gem.  I believe our health, environment and quality of life requires limits on airport expansion. I will bring leadership, experience and a personal commitment to engage and advocate for our residents. To best serve all of our citizens, we need equitable representation on the City Council and Commissions. I will continue to work with our legislators to bring additional resources to Des Moines.
