2019 general election
City of Burien
Council Position 2
Cydney Moore
250 S. 162nd St. #22
Burien, WA 98148
(206) 775-0741
My priority is to improve the quality of life for all who live, work and do business in Burien - starting by addressing key issues like poverty. I will fight for livable wages, affordable housing, stronger support for our most vulnerable, and shelter for our homeless.
As your council member, I will use my experience as a local business owner and nonprofit leader to serve our city. Currently, I volunteer for many local organizations, including Discover Burien and C.A.R.E.S. animal shelter, and hold leadership positions in the Burien Arts Association and ACLU Burien People Power. I will continue working to make our city a clean, sustainable, safe, and inclusive place for all. Together, we can build a brighter future for Burien!
Endorsements: King County Young Democrats, 33rd District Democrats, Highline Education Association, SEIU6, Senator Joe Nguyen, Burien Mayor Jimmy Matta, Burien Deputy Mayor Austin Bell, Burien City Councilmember Krystal Marx
City government is important but not complicated, principally responsible for keeping our streets safe and fostering a healthy economic climate. I will sponsor policies that enable businesses to thrive and will advocate dynamic, targeted law enforcement. I firmly oppose programs or policies that encourage lifestyle homelessness and I am the only candidate in this race who does not endorse the establishment of illegal drug injections sites.
I’ve been your neighbor for nearly 20 years and my campaign is funded exclusively by the residents and business owners of Burien. If you crave common sense leadership that will boldly resist the intrusion of extremist outside interests, I’m your candidate.
I have a vested interest in Burien and as your councilmember, I will bring pragmatic leadership absent of partisan activist theater and focused on the needs of every Burien resident. City government should be about results, not partisan politics. Thanks for your support.
