2019 general election
City of Bothell
Council Position 2
Mason Thompson
11911 NE 155th St
Bothell, WA 98011
(206) 931-9857
A lifelong resident of the area, my wife and I have chosen to raise our family in Bothell. Serving Bothell as the Parks & Recreation Board Chair and on the Capital Facilities Planning Committee has afforded me the opportunity to gain valuable experience participating in the decision-making process at the city.
Building vibrant, mixed-use, walkable neighborhoods Downtown and in Canyon Park is critical. Focusing mandated growth around coming high frequency transit addresses pressing issues like Bothell’s budget, housing affordability, environmental impact, traffic, and parking. Bothell deserves forward-thinking leaders who recognize that when we adapt to a changing world while preserving Bothell’s character we improve quality of life. Bothell also needs an off-leash dog park, a skate park, mountain bike trails, and more inclusive parks.
I am pleased to be endorsed by six current City Council members including Mayor Rheaume and Deputy Mayor Duerr. I would be honored to serve you.
Bothell residents deserve a councilwoman who has a proven track record as a dedicated community Leader. As the Owner of Alexa’s Café & Catering on Main St for 28 years, I get things done on budget and on time. I care deeply about the people in this City and will be a tireless advocate for maintaining critical services and fiscal responsibility during this time of growth without raising taxes.
My progressive and collaborative leadership style has enabled me to create consensus between city government, local businesses, and service organizations to affect positive change. I will pursue public and private partnerships to transform vacant city owned commercial properties into thriving ventures that serve our citizens. I will champion local issues for both King and Snohomish counties, like building a dog park and alleviating traffic.
Endorsed: Bothell Firefighters Local 2099, King County Democrats, Affordable Housing Council, and many more familiar local leaders.
