It has been my honor to serve as one of your Commissioners the last twelve years. The Burien I grew up in is not the same city we have today. A water district’s first priority is fire flow.  The large scale construction in Burien over the course of the last few years, such as Burien Town Square, Highline Hospital expansion, Merrill Gardens and Burien Town Square Apartments, was a challenge we met.  The fire flow requirements for these large scale structures are 4000 gallons of water per minute for four hours.  That is 960,000 gallons of water that must be available 24/7. With your vote, I’ll continue using my 38 years of in-the-field utility experience to meet the challenges of maintaining and improving the 59 miles of water main and 640 fire hydrants within our district.
