My name is Andy Johnson and I am running for Position 1 of the Board of Commissioners for Vashon Island Fire & Rescue.

I believe that I am a uniquely qualified candidate for this position.  I have lived on Vashon for over 20 years and have 30 years of experience in emergency services having worked as a volunteer firefighter, an EMT for several private ambulance companies and 22 years as a Paramedic with King County Medic One, including four years here on Vashon.  With this history, I am able to understand our unique community and all aspects of the job from fire to EMS, as well as seeing it from both volunteer and career perspectives.

I am very proud of the quality of service provided by our first responders.  As a commissioner I will diligently work to spend our tax dollars efficiently and move the department into the future.
