Statement:

The well-being of our entire community is my priority. In 2011, I ran to become a Commissioner of the North Highline Fire District because NHFD needed life support.

A major reason was shrinking revenue due to North Highline’s high concentration of tax-exempt properties. Something had to change. It did. You voted to allow NHFD to collect a Benefit Charge from many tax-exempt property owners. This new income isn’t making us rich, but NHFD is getting healthy again.

In January, we learned of proposed state legislation that threatened our more equitable revenue stream. We educated our legislators about the economic make-up of our community and why the proposed legislation should Not apply to NHFD. They listened and amended the bill to protect us!  Substitute House Bill 1467 became law on May 5, 2017.

I believe in Government for the People--it is the reason I ask for your vote. Thank you!

Statement:

As a lifetime resident, I was proud to return to this great and growing community after my time in the United States Marine Corps. Currently I work as Seattle Firefighter with 11 years of experience with the fire community. I understand the dangers of the fire protection trade and what firefighters go through on a daily basis. I know first hand the equipment and resources firefighters need to keep both themselves and our homes safe. My ultimate goal is making sure that our rapidly growing community has the professional emergency service that it deserves.

I am open to ideas and concerns from the community and from the Firefighters themselves. I feel that I can best help in the decision making process by valuing ideas and choices that reflect our communities best interests with no wasted money or dangerous under funding of our emergency responders.
