2017 general election
Northshore School District 417
Director District 5
As a resident of Northshore for over 20 years, the success of our schools is very important to me. I have been honored to serve as School Board Director for the past four years, and remain focused on providing our students with the highest quality education.
Over the past four years, my service on the board has focused on five areas: educational excellence for every student; adaptability to growth; responsiveness to educators and community; improving transparency; and building civility.
I worked over the last four years on: new STEM programs, opening North Creek High School on budget, directing a strategic planning process, improving the district's OSPI Financial Health rating each year, successful contract negotiations with teachers, strengthening equity policies, and coordinating a nationwide superintendent search. I was elected to board leadership positions every year, including president for two years.
I look forward to continuing to work together for Northshore’s future.
Selfless dedication to community and education have always been my passions. As a Navy veteran, and continuing student of higher education, I will bring those passions with me as school board director. As a father, my full investment will be made into seeing to the success of this school district. I will bring my professional experiences in three unique STEM fields, demand stewardship of district resources, establish an environment in which all children unequivocally receive the highest quality education, and fully support our district staff.
My priorities include: Increased support of teachers, administrators and staff across our district, ensuring they’re provided the right resources to address their unique circumstances; modern continuing evaluation of our curriculum and programs to meet the demands of our childrens needs; financial health and transparency to assure long term success and sustainability, and bottom-up stakeholder involvement.
