Occupation: MFG Manager - Retired, Community Supporter
Statement:

Shoreline and Lake Forest Park have a rich tradition of supporting excellent public schools. That support was recently on display by the decisive passage of the latest bond measure. My continuing vision for our network of educational communities is a system that reflects the positive diversity of those communities.

In 1997 our family moved to Shoreline for the schools. We were not disappointed. Our children received a first rate education that enabled them to pursue their current careers.

My priorities are a safe, nurturing learning environment, fiscal accountability, curriculum innovation, professional development and encouragement of a strong partnership between parents, our outstanding teachers and administrators, and our students.

I believe that nothing will open the door of opportunity for our students more than a quality public education. That is why I am asking once again for your vote, so that I can continue to support this valuable community asset.

Education: Masters Degree, University of Washington
Occupation: Retired Educator
Statement:

Mr. Pollak has been a lifelong learner and educator attending classes or teaching in many different national and international locations. He received his undergraduate degree in education, teaching in Illinois soon after. Since then he has taught in the U. S. Virgin Islands, Taiwan, Washington, and most recently at a British system international school in Shanghai. His continuing education has included study in the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, and Taiwan, where he began graduate study.

Mr. Pollak brings an international perspective to education. It is time to take some of these various approaches to education and synthesize them with the best qualities of American public schools to create the educational system for the next fifty year; to educate model citizens where each can reach their potential and their dreams in a safe and inclusive environment. Mr. Pollak is the right person to bring this thinking to the Shoreline School Board
