2017 general election
Town of Hunts Point
Council Position 5
Ernest Norehad
3655 Hunts Point Rd
Hunts Point, WA 98004
Hunts Point was incorporated for the purpose of preserving and protecting the citizens property rights. Over the years these rights have been transferred to a hearing examiner and a town planner, who decide issues of waterfront and property development. I will work to restore these decisions to the citizens, represented by the town council.
An expensive, extensive and elaborate plan to embellish the towns entrance has been proposed. I believe the town residents value privacy, security and the understated nature of the town. I will work to preserve these attributes.
Thank you.
Thank you for the confidence you’ve placed in me over the past six years I’ve served as your council member. I am seeking re-election so that I can continue the work I set out to do when I first ran for office in 2011: namely, to preserve the exceptional quality of life we all enjoy in Hunts Point. The Shoreline Master Program updating process concluded approximately two years ago with a favorable outcome for the Town, principally owing to the excellent work of the committee I helped form in 2010 . My main focus now is on mitigating the environmental damage caused by the SR 520 corridor project, and implementing other beautification measures throughout the Town. I am fully committed to delivering on the plan developed by the Hunts Point Beautification Committee and overwhelmingly supported by the Town’s residents. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 7th.
