2017 general election
City of Normandy Park
Council Position 6
Patrick McDonald
411 SW 207th Pl
Normandy Park, WA 98166

As a husband, father, and longtime resident of Normandy Park, I believe it is important that our city remain a safe and family-friendly place to live. I am running for City Council as a fresh voice who will advocate for maintaining our community's strong values and culture. I believe in maintaining a healthy police force, beautiful and well-funded parks, and will push for further economic development of Normandy Park's main commercial centers, all while prioritizing fiscal responsibility in our community. I will prioritize the economic well-being of our community by developing creative revenue streams to prevent further tax increases.
I will push for an active approach when listening to community members' needs, ensuring that everyone has a voice. I will also establish a more trusting, open, and transparent council. As someone who cares deeply about our community, serving as a member of our City Council would be a great privilege.
My husband and I have lived in Normandy Park for over 35 years. During that time I served on the Normandy Park City Council for 12 years.
Most recently I served on the Normandy Park Budget Advisory Group and the Facilities Planning Task Force.
I have worked successfully with many groups in community service, serving as a Normandy Park Councilmember, Mayor of Normandy Park and presently Commissioner for Highline Water District.
The skills, experience and confidence which I can bring forward would be of great value making sure healthy discussions take place leading to the decisions that affect all.
Our police and parks are what make Normandy Park the kind of community we call home and will always have my support.
If elected I will work together with Councilmembers and staff in making sure our city is able to maintain it's most important services.
