Statement:

Normandy Park is in trouble. Within the past two years we've lost five Police officers through resignation or "retirement ". We're at half strength. Two Councilmembers have quit, two Planning Commissioners and three Art's Commissioners have quit in protest as well. We have a crisis in confidence of our fair city. We need experienced leadership now.

I have the experience you deserve.  I've served as your Mayor for five years, City Councilmember for 14 years. I know our community and care deeply for it. I'm an effective leader and consensus builder. I've served as President/ Board member of the Normandy Park Community Club  "Cove" for 12 years, revitalizing it and putting it in a solid financial position. I believe I can do the same for our wonderful city. I look forward to serving you!

Statement:

In the past, I have supported Normandy Park Cares which successfully resisted Hanbleceya's immoral placement of drug addicts with mental health issues, without oversight, in local houses. I have supported Citizens Against Seatac Expansion (C.A.S.E.),  which won partial but important mitigation rights, regarding the Third runway. I currently support Quiet Skies Coalition  in their efforts to find solutions and  protect us against both noise and environmental/ health pollution.

As a former Parks Commission chairman, Prior to the 2008 economic recession, I co-authored with others the Metropolitan Parks District measure which protected our parks from closure. Currently I am a Planning Commissioner and ,as with the Parks Commission, have promoted  democracy by convincing the other commissioners to rotate the Commission chairman's position yearly . My opponent is  polite and likeable . However, even as a former council member and mayor, he was MIA in these crucial battles. Vote for leadership.
