City of Newcastle
Council Position 6
We have lived in Newcastle’s Olympus Neighborhood for 29 years. I love Newcastle and want it to continue to thrive. Citizen voices and priorities are key to our city’s success and direction. It is vital that we 1) retain our identity as a safe, affordable, livable community, 2) live within our means and spend our revenue wisely, and 3) avoid the dangers and property devaluation of expanded electrical towers. I support the CENSE solutions for safe, reliable, sustainable electricity.
As a Sr. Management Executive at PACCAR, I managed and creatively leveraged multi-million dollar department and project budgets, establishing a successful track record of achieving goals on time and under budget. I believe with wise fiscal management, Newcastle can keep our tax burden reasonable. As your councilmember, I will use my experience and skills to keep our city vibrant and affordable. I respectfully request your vote. See endorsements on my website.
Newcastle is a beautiful, green, friendly, and a convenient commute to businesses all over the Eastside and Seattle area. Because of this our city is experiencing unprecedented growth, which is only projected to increase.
I have lived in Newcastle for twenty years, attending school here and returning after both university and my time at the UW School of Law. I have been active in progressive politics for many years, and as a practicing immigration attorney work to keep families together to ensure everyone has a chance to experience the American dream.
I hope to bring my education and experience to our city, respecting responsible, green development. Newcastle is a growing city, and I hope to facilitate its growth in a way that respects the natural character of the city and reflects the values of our residents. We have an opportunity to plan for the future – let’s use it.
