2017 general election
City of Burien
Council Position 1
Pedro E. Olguin
645 SW 153RD ST #A5
BURIEN, WA 98166
(253) 653-4568
Burien is my home and I want the very best for our city: safe streets, clean parks, livable neighborhoods, and opportunities for all of our residents. I have devoted my professional life to standing up for working families, speaking out for public safety, and ensuring that we build an economy that works for all.
I will strive to make Burien safer and more equitable. But most of all, I want to hear from you, what you love about Burien, and how we can improve our city. Together, we can build a healthy, safe, and equitable Burien.
I would love to hear from you, reach me by visiting our website at Burien4Olguin.org. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Pedro E. Olguin
Endorsements include: King County Democrats, 33rd and 34th District Democrats, the Martin Luther King County Central Labor Council, and our King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove.
The City Council’s role is important but not complicated. Its principal mandates are to keep our streets safe and to foster a healthy economic environment. If elected, I will champion dynamic, targeted law enforcement and I will support policies that foster a thriving business community.
My opponent, Mr. Olguin, has lived here less than one year and his contributors are largely outside special interest groups. I have been your neighbor for over 16 years and my campaign is funded primarily by the residents and business owners of Burien. If you desire a return to common sense and wish to resist the encroachment of extreme outside interests, I am your candidate.
I have a vested interest in Burien’s future and as your councilmember I will bring nonpartisan, pragmatic leadership absent of political theater and focused on the needs of every Burien resident. City government should be about results, not partisan politics.
