Statement:

Des Moines has many assets we all can enjoy and build on. I’m running for City Council Position Five to be your advocate and to expand and enrich those assets.

We have a spectacular marina that can become a focal point in our community. Bringing in new restaurants, shops, and additional parking can make the marina a destination for everyone while bringing in new revenue and jobs to our city.

For too long the city has lived with the threat of receivership by the State Auditor’s office. Development of the city needs to focus on creating sustainable revenue streams and budget accordingly to support parks and police.

Our city government must operate with transparency. Everyone should have a seat at the table to ensure your concerns are addressed. We can provide safety and security for all our citizens and make sure development has a positive impact for all.

Statement:

I'm Patricio. I’m a hardworking, non-political family man and entrepreneur who immigrated to Des Moines from Chile in 1991. I am a passionate advocate for the City of Des Moines, small business, and supportive of building cultural relationships.

As a board member of 4Culture and member of the Rotary Club, my passion is serving the community I love. I want to help Des Moines be a safe and healthy haven for families and businesses.

Building our economic base is key to our success. With prosperity more resources become available for the police, public works, parks, etc. which all support a better place to live.

Safety, family, and prosperity for Des Moines is what we can achieve if we work together. Choose Patricio Mendoza for City Council.
