I have been involved with Water Aerobics at the Tukwila Pool for many years. From working with Vocational Rehabilitation, I have been able to offer suggestions such as better pool access for those who are disabled (which I am thrilled was adopted and implemented). As a grandmother of 20, I spend hours at local pools for swim lessons and meets. Some pools are laid out wonderfully for both the swimmers and parents, while others are a nightmare. Through my years around different pools, I have many ideas regarding the building of the new pool, based on what our community needs. I have a vision of offering a pool which meets all the community's needs with one facility. Whether toddlers swimming in the pool, or relaxing your achy joints in the jacuzzi, a vote for me is a vote for those less heard- the children, the disabled, and the senior citizens.

As Tukwila Pool's current Commissioner, I am invested in the current state and future of our pool. I originally ran for the position because my son loved swimming and I wanted to be part of something that he loved. 

Now that I have been in office and involved with the pool community for the past 6 years, I have found that it is a community that I would love to stay part of and keep serving. I appreciate the opportunities that were open to me, including being part of the pool's various committees and public events, and have developed a passion for water safety and public health. The Tukwila Pool provides a safe and fun space for adults to exercise and for kids to spend their summers, and I enjoy being part of such a valuable resource that brings our community together.
