Occupation: Retired business owner and pharmacist, Vashon Pharmacy, Inc.
Statement:

Over 45 years working in our community with some of its healthcare needs, I have not yet seen a time when local social and health resources have been as robust as many Islanders would desire.  This is still true today.

The Vashon Health Care District was created about 6 years ago to address the approaching loss of our primary care clinic and to consider which additional unmet healthcare needs that our neighbors most prioritize. I am pleased that the District hasn't raised the original levy amount at any time over those 6 years in spite of launching additional programs including 365-day Urgent Care, enhanced Behavioral Health for Island youth, a voucher program to assist low-income residents with health care access, and collaboration with VIFR to enhance in-home health services for our vulnerable adults.

I wish to continue my work as a VHCD Commissioner and I ask for your vote.
