GENERAL 2025
Public Hospital District No. 2
Commissioner Position No. 5
I have lived in the EvergreenHealth Kirkland service area for 50 years and am a business owner in Woodinville. I have been PTA President and a Golden Acorn recipient. I have 30 years of pharmacy experience in hospital and clinical settings. As a Certified Diabetes Educator, I helped develop the first interdisciplinary patient diabetes education program in Washington State, and have helped standardize protocols for diabetes medications. I served on the state Pharmacy Commission for eleven years, and was principle author of laws insuring a woman’s right to choose, and a law requiring state documentation of all controlled substance medications. I was honored to receive the Excellence in Pharmacy Practice Award from the School of Pharmacy.
I served as co-chair for UW’s Be Boundless fund development campaign, helping to bring in $50 million for the School of Pharmacy. I served on the Woodinville City Council for four years and am the immediate past mayor. I have been serving as an EvergreenHealth Community Advisor since 2021 and have enjoyed contributing to this great community asset.
My years of experience in direct patient care, program management, fiscal oversight, and community service make me uniquely qualified to serve as an EvergreenHealth Commissioner . I’ll work for you for the best patient experience every time. I will make sure that your tax dollars coming to EvergreenHealth are used effectively to secure and retain the best staff, to support the most innovative diagnoses and treatment protocols, and to keep health care affordable. I would be honored to have your vote.
I believe everyone deserves access to exceptional medical care. In 2024, I was honored to be appointed to the Board of Commissioners for King County Public Hospital District #2 (EvergreenHealth), serving Bothell, Duvall, Kenmore, Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish, and Woodinville. I’m now seeking election to a full term.
As a former EvergreenHealth Community Advisor, and with a lifelong career in healthcare and life sciences, I’m committed to expanding access, improving outcomes, and strengthening our community hospital. During my tenure, I’ve focused on financial stewardship and expanding vital services. My top priorities include expanding access to primary care and behavioral health services while ensuring effective use of hospital resources. I bring 25 years of experience on public and private boards and currently serve on the Finance, Governance, Quality & Safety, and Levy Committees. I’ve also earned the Health Care Governance Certification from the Washington State Hospital Association.
We can be proud that EvergreenHealth is one of the Top 50 hospitals in the nation, a testament to our dedicated staff and supportive community. I will continue supporting policies that promote a culture of compassion, innovation, and service while sustaining our excellence in delivery of care.
I am endorsed by the following: Mayors Kelli Curtis (Kirkland), Nigel Herbig (Kenmore), and Mike Millman (Woodinville), State Representatives Amy Walen (LD 48) and Davina Duerr (LD 1), and by all sitting Commissioners of EvergreenHealth.
It would be an honor to earn your vote. Together, we can preserve and strengthen the high-quality care our community expects and deserves.
