GENERAL 2025
Cedar River Water & Sewer District
Commissioner Position No. 2
My family and I have been residents of the Cedar river Water/Sewer district since 1979. I studied at Bellevue College with an emphasis in urban planning and public administration.
I was employed with a local municipality for 35 years in the sanitary sewer and storm drainage water quality division until my retirement in 2013. I have continued to work in retirement with part-time and volunteer work.
As a commissioner I will bring a solid understanding of water/sewer practices and procedures allowing the commissioners to take on issues and achieve equitable solutions. I would be honored to be an active member of the commission and to serve the community. I have very good public relations skills and would sincerely appreciate your vote of confidence going forward. Thank you.
I was appointed to the Cedar River Water and Sewer District Commissioners in 2024, and currently serve as their President. I believe that retaining me as a Commissioner will maintain the continuity and positive working relationships I have already built within the District. My prior experiences as a five-year appointed member of the Kent Land Use and Planning Board followed by eight years as an elected Kent City Councilman, has made me realize the need of always having a "vision" for the future.
Awareness of potential growth requires long-term planning, and knowledge of the capacity required by the District to maintain the quality of life, services and sustainability that we currently provide. With fiscal responsibility in mind, I aim to find alternative funding resources other than increased customer service rates. I will listen to and work diligently for you. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you.
