Our schools operate as the heart of our community— their health and vibrancy a reflection of our collective health and vibrancy. Who we are and who we strive to be is woven into the fabric of the foundation and opportunities we provide for our youth. Preparing our children for the challenges we face locally, nationally and globally requires creativity, ingenuity, a deep understanding of our individual and collective histories, and a powerful immersion into STEM fields, the arts, and athletics. During my thirty years of working in the field of education, I have successfully brought strategic thinking, creative problem solving and vision to bear on challenges facing our educational institutions.   

For the past year-and-a-half, I served the Vashon Island School District as a board member committed to injecting greater transparency and accountability into our schools—our greatest public trust.  We stand poised to build upon Vashon’s powerful and vibrant legacy.
