As someone that grew up in the Tukwila School District I know that we have a very diverse and active community and I am proud to say that I have continued to be apart of that community while balancing my own personal education and career paths. From volunteering to coach baseball for Foster to helping out teachers set up classrooms or help with their own course loads I know the importance of community and celebrating our differences but I am also aware where some areas may be falling short. While in the position of school board director I will be holding myself to the standard of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accesiblity. This is how I ran my classrooms when I was an instructor (5 years) and apprenticeship coordinator (2 years) at the Finishing Trades Institute Northwest and it improved the program as a whole.
