GENERAL 2025
Northshore School District No. 417
Director District No. 5
Kimberlee Kelly

As a teacher with over 15 years of experience in classrooms and a parent/advocate of an incoming Northshore student, I will bring a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities both students and families face in public schools.
I’ve designed inclusive, rigorous curricula and helped students close years-wide learning gaps across multiple subjects. Beyond my own classroom, I’ve led the creation of a computer science department, spearheaded mental health initiatives, trained educators nationwide on equity-driven, high-impact instruction, and served in leadership roles at the school and district level.
As your representative, I will champion the policies, practices, and funding that ensure Northshore students and educators succeed—from smaller class sizes and mental health supports to creating inclusive and welcoming learning environments for all learners. I’ll tirelessly work to rebuild our financial reserves through sustainable funding, locally and at the state level. I’ll work to ensure that every child has access to the exceptional resources and opportunities they need to succeed, including access to special education, arts, technology, and college and career-ready skills. I humbly ask for your vote.
Endorsements: Washington Education Association (WEA), Northshore's educator's unions (NSEA and NEOPA), 45th District Democrats, Sen. Derek Stanford, Woodinville City Councilmember Michelle Evans

At 71, I have been a district resident for 35 years, an active parent of 5, grandparent of 12, with multiple grandchildren in the Northshore District schools, a PTA board member, have taught and reviewed curriculum for 25 years, tutored and enjoyed all of these challenges.
Concerned with the drastic failing reading and math scores in many schools, now serious focus on academics and curriculum is vital. Reading is the door to learning. I will collaborate with the board members in finding solutions to meet the diverse needs of students today.
Our State Superintendent of Public Instruction is opposed to Parents Rights but he is in favor of allowing boys in girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms and allowing boys in girls’ sports. Our state is risking losing billions of dollars in federal funds by refusing to comply with the federal Title IX Rights of a half million girls. Parents in the Northshore School District have a powerful voice through their school board directors. Local boards can uphold Title IX and ensure our girls' rights are respected.
I will advocate for the responsible allocation of public resources, transparency and accountability to the laws and policies that support high-quality education.
