Statement:

As the parent of three graduates of Northshore schools, serving on the Northshore School Board for the last sixteen years has been an incredible honor.  While we have always balanced our budget, there is still work to do, including advocating for the financial resources necessary so each and every student can excel in school and the future of their choosing.  I will continue to bring the voices of parents, students, and educators together to provide the critical thinking, creativity and communication skills our students will need in the second half of the 21st century and even into the 22nd. Our students need to be prepared for jobs that may not yet exist, in a world that will look dramatically different than ours.

I believe that every one of our students should know that they are contributing members of our community and that starts with talking about all of them with kindness and respect. I always have and always will put students at the center of my service.

Endorsements – Northshore Education and Office Professionals Associations, 1st and 45th District Democrats, King and Snohomish County Democrats, National Women’s Political Caucus, multiple local elected officials, and many community members

Education: Wenatchee Valley College, Seattle Pacific University, Music Therapy Major
Occupation: Retired music educator, software sales professional, passionate about advancing education.
Statement:

I am a devoted NSD grandparent and longtime resident, driven to ensure every student reaches their potential in a financially sound system. Having worked with special needs and incarcerated youth, I bring compassion and a broad understanding of diverse student needs.

My background in Governance, Risk, and Compliance is the missing piece on the NSD board. With a $21 million shortfall, I will prioritize fiscal accountability and audits to ensure limited funds are used effectively for student success.

Athletic fairness means girls compete with girls and boys with boys—protecting the integrity of competition and the safety of our students.

I champion your voice—empowering parents, teachers, and taxpayers to shape policies. Through transparent, community-driven decisions, we will adopt curriculum that fosters critical thinking and soft skills. We must support our great teachers and raise test scores. With nearly $21,000 per student annually, excellence is possible. We must preserve local control of our schools and remain mindful of outside influences that may not align with community values. Growing input from mandates and interest groups can overlook local needs. Community-based decisions help ensure policies reflect our families. Parents understand their children best. Welcoming schools. Thriving students. It all starts with your vote.
