As a biracial mother of four students with unique educational needs, I understand parents’ challenges. I have spent years volunteering in schools, PTAs, and the HiCap Parents Council and teaching in Girl Scouts.
Northshore is a great school district and regional leader in education innovation, but is facing several challenges. With a new superintendent, we require a school board with deep experience and strong community connections. We must work together to balance our budget, fight for more state funding, rebuild our reserves, and maintain educational excellence supporting the needs of all learners.
It takes all of us working together to make kids and families successful. I have seen what works and what could be improved. We must better support our students’ unique neurodiversities, cultural identities, and family structures to support their mental health. Students and families with different first languages need to be better assisted with translation services. I would be honored to receive your vote so I can champion these causes.
Endorsements: Northshore Education and Office Professionals; Washington Education Association; 1st LD and Snohomish County Democrats; Sen. Derek Stanford; Reps. Davina Duerr, April Berg, and Brandy Donaghy; Mayor Mason Thompson; School Board Director Dr. Jacqueline McGourty; continued on webpage.

I am an engineer, educator, community advocate, and proud parent of two Northshore graduates—both now thriving in healthcare careers. I’m running for the Northshore School Board to support the development of the whole child, including special education and highly capable programs.
I believe in strengthening our public schools through equitable funding, fair educator compensation, expanded mental health services, rigorous academics, broader access to STEAM, and college and career readiness. I will champion inclusive, safe, and supportive schools, invest in excellent teachers and staff, and make data-informed decisions that reflect our community’s values.
I support responsible budgeting with clear accountability—ensuring public funds drive measurable student outcomes, including emotional and academic growth, and life readiness. I’ll also work with educators and legislators across Washington to reform the outdated prototypical funding model and expand basic education to meet every student’s needs.
Drawing on my unique leadership experience across private industry, higher education, nonprofit service, and lived experience, I will fulfill my commitment to advancing the development of the whole child. Endorsements: 1st LD Democrats; Senators - Derek Stanford, Manka Dhingra and John Lovick; Representatives – Shelley Kloba, April Berg, and Bandy Donaghy; Councilmembers – King County Rod Dembowski, and Snohomish County Jared Mead
