Education: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Rice University
Occupation: Software Engineer
Statement:

I’m an AI engineer, startup CTO, and science educator with two children at Island Park Elementary. I’m running for school board to ensure Mercer Island continues its tradition of academic excellence while evolving to meet the needs of every student, and to remain a place where strong academics, character, and community thrive together.

As both a parent and educator, I’ve seen how curriculum choices directly impact student confidence and success. We must reevaluate our approach to math and literacy using proven, evidence-based methods that foster deep understanding and prepare all students to reach their full potential.

Families entrust our schools with their children’s education, safety, and well-being. That trust must be earned and upheld daily. I will work to ensure our schools are safe, inclusive, and led with integrity. It’s time for accountable leadership that sets a statewide standard and builds a future every Mercer Island student can believe in.

Occupation: Attorney specializing in complex, high-value aviation transactions and ownership
Statement:

As a lifelong Mercer Island resident, MIHS graduate, and MISD parent, I care deeply about our schools' success. For more than a decade, I’ve volunteered in classrooms and served in PTA leadership, building strong connections across our district.

As a small business owner and practicing attorney, I bring expertise in policy analysis, budget management, consensus building, and problem-solving. I’m running for School Board to ensure our schools provide a high-quality, challenging education while prioritizing students’ emotional well-being, maintain financial stability, unite diverse community voices, and support inclusive classrooms where every child can thrive.

Our district is strongest when families, teachers, and administrators work together in good faith. I will lead with transparency, responsiveness, and a long-term vision focused on students. I am proudly endorsed by the Mercer Island Education Association, former School Board Directors, and City Council Members. I respectfully ask for your vote for School Board Director, Position 4.
