Occupation: Leadership Development Consultant
Statement:

I'm running to retain my seat on the KSD school board as a parent and community member who believes in the transformative power of education. Our schools are more than buildings—they shape futures. I will prioritize three key areas: 1. Academic Excellence – I’ll advocate for resources that empower teachers and ensure all students, from kindergarten to high school, have access to modern tools and support to succeed. 2. Financial Transparency – I’ll work to ensure every dollar is spent wisely and transparently, always prioritizing student needs. 3. Strong Community Connections – I’ll foster open communication among families, educators, and the board, encouraging collaborative decision-making.

Together, we can create an inclusive, high-quality educational environment where every child thrives. I’m asking for your vote to serve not only on the board but to serve you and your children. Together, we can make a difference.

Education: Lincoln HS, Tacoma, WA Graduate; Administrative Assistant @ Knapps Business College; & College Courses
Occupation: Retired
Statement:

I have been an advocate for youth most of my adult life: I owned and operated a daycare for 8 years; I have worked and volunteered at every level of the K-12 public school system. I have served in the Pierce County Courts as a Guardian Ad Litem & Diversion Counselor. I am dedicated to supporting the future adults who will be contributing to our communities and country. If elected to the Kent School Board, I would be honored to contribute to decisions representing our community and support the kind of academic excellence and foundational skills students need to succeed.

We must prioritize essential academic skills: reading, writing, and math and not replace parents in personal matters. We require outstanding instructional strategies to assist teachers in educating students and administrative staff guiding educators in their pursuit of academic excellence. Additionally, we must maintain fiscal responsibility to support these core learning objectives.

I have worked in the Franklin Pierce and Puyallup School Districts, at Pacific Lutheran University, with Associated General Contractors, and with First Security Investments & Moss Adams CPA Tacoma
