Education: Master of Science, Electrical Engineering (Computer Networks), Stanford University, USA
Occupation: Senior Program Manager, Google, Inc.
Statement:

No Talent Left Behind

As a Stanford-trained technologist leading engineering programs at Google, I know education opens doors. As a former computer-science teacher, STEM mentor and soccer coach, I’ve seen students soar with support. My daughter flourished in Issaquah’s special-education programs, and my son’s gifts led us to homeschool. One size doesn’t fit all, but every child deserves a shot at success on a level playing field.

As Director, I’ll set fiscally responsible policies. Spending has doubled in five years, yet more kids now struggle with mental health and academic neglect. I will firmly hold the system accountable, restoring objective district-wide goals for stress-free classrooms, academic excellence, creative thinking, parent engagement, and support for teachers. We will double funding for vocational training (CTE) and widen dual-credit pathways so students graduate ready for a career or college.

Overcrowding can be addressed with smart solutions. I will push for zero tolerance for substance abuse and bullying, and end distractions in classrooms so teachers can teach and students can thrive. A “Promised vs. Delivered” dashboard with quarterly updates will build trust and public accountability. I fix tough problems for a living—let’s do the same for our schools. Vote to help every child flourish!

Statement:

Born and raised in Western Washington, I'm deeply rooted in the Issaquah School District community and committed to ensuring our schools are safe, inclusive, and forward-thinking. With over 20 years of leadership in the aerospace industry, I bring a data-driven, results-oriented approach to education. I appreciate the value of diversity and will work to provide a supportive and welcoming learning environment for every student. My vocational experience fuels my advocacy for expanding career and technical educational offerings and innovative career pathways.

As a proud parent of two students in the Issaquah School District, I’ve spent the past 5 years volunteering in my children’s school as a PTA Board Director, Art Docent, Science Fair Chair, and Eagle Reader Program Chair. Involvement in my local school helps me apply practical knowledge to the big policy issues facing the district.

I’ve earned the trust and support of respected local organizations and leaders: King County Democrats; 5th District Democrats; Issaquah Education Association; Washington Education Association; State Senator Victoria Hunt; State Representative Lisa Callan; city council members from Renton, Issaquah, Sammamish, and Newcastle; Issaquah School Board Director Matt Coyne; and many more community leaders across the district. I’d be honored to earn your vote.
