Statement:

End the Housing Shortage: Protect our Town.

Advocate for a new bridge at the East Fork Miller River washout to guarantee emergency access and safeguard our community during future forest fires. Residents frequently face blockages at the railroad crossing on E Cascade Highway—but what if both crossings were blocked in an emergency? This urgent reality highlights the critical need for an alternate route out of town for those living on that side of the tracks.

Support engineering improvements and seek community input on installing a speed camera on US 2 through Skykomish—to reduce speeding, improve safety and explore a potential revenue stream for the town. Upgrade and expand our town’s recreational facilities to create welcoming spaces where everyone can relax, play, and stay active. Advocate for the town to craft creative revenue streams to meet evolving resident needs while responsibly managing tourism’s growing impact on Skykomish.
