GENERAL 2025
City of Seattle
Mayor
Career politicians want to protect the status quo, but it's clear the status quo isn’t working. Seattle is a great city, but it’s becoming less livable. Working families are struggling. More people are unsheltered than ever before. We deserve a mayor who’s not distracted by cronyism and scandals, one who will focus on tackling the major challenges Seattle faces: skyrocketing living costs, homelessness, public safety, and Trump’s cruel and chaotic attacks.
This is your city — and we can do better.
I’ve spent my career fighting alongside the people who make our city run to win major victories for working families: the highest minimum wage in the country, stronger protections for renters, affordable fares for transit riders, and the landmark JumpStart tax on wealthy corporations, which prevented devastating cuts during the pandemic.
As your mayor, I’ll create 4,000 units of emergency housing to reduce unsheltered homelessness. I’ll invest in alternatives to police response for nonviolent calls so SPD can focus on serious crime. I’ll expand mental health and addiction treatment. I’ll support small businesses and create good, green jobs. I’ll build on the gains we’ve made for our city’s workers, and raise new progressive revenue to protect vulnerable communities from Trump's cuts. Voters have twice supported social housing, by a landslide; Seattle deserves a mayor who will work to make it successful, not undermine it.
Seattle can have abundant and affordable housing, great public spaces, high-quality schools, world-class mass transit, and vibrant neighborhoods. You shouldn’t need a six-figure income to feel at home here. This is your city — a city that we can build, together.
With your vote, we can have a true champion for working families and a coalition-builder in the mayor’s office. Endorsed by King County Democrats, UAW 4121, and many more listed at wilsonforseattle.com/endorse.
I’m proud to lead a Seattle united against federal cruelty, and I’m investing in affordability, safety, and housing. Let’s build on the progress we’ve made: 3,000 new emergency housing units bringing people indoors with services, over 6,000 new affordable homes, innovative public safety solutions, a doubling of affordable childcare, and new progressive revenue to safeguard investments in housing.
Raised in Seattle by a Japanese mother incarcerated during WWII and a Black father who escaped the Jim Crow South, standing up to Trump’s hate is personal for me. I’ve defended the rights of women, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ neighbors.
Action on Housing: As your mayor, I’ve delivered 33,000 new homes, invested over $1 billion toward affordable and supportive housing, reduced tent encampments by 80%, and tripled the Housing Levy. To continue this progress– I will eliminate barriers to construction, enable the development of over 100,000 new family-sized homes, and keep addressing homelessness with urgency and compassion.
Improved Safety: I created the CARE Department, hired hundreds of officers to rebuild SPD, and crime and overdose deaths are down. We’ll continue expanding behavioral health alternative response and addiction services, while recruiting officers who reflect our diverse communities. We cannot afford to go backwards on safety.
Relief for Families: Standing with workers, I protected the minimum wage increases I proudly helped negotiate. Trump’s tariffs, inflation, and federal cuts raise prices and impact jobs, but we’re taking action: doubling affordable childcare– with the goal of universal access for low-income families– and lowering taxes for small businesses.
My record and leadership is endorsed by Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Governor Ferguson, Attorney General Brown, MLK Labor, SEIU775, Building-Trades, Seattle FireFighters, Seattle Times, Democratic leaders, Alliance for Gun Responsibility, and more. I deeply care about Seattle– and will deliver the affordability we need and safeguard the rights we must protect.
