Occupation: Executive Director, SeaTac Senior Support Systems
Statement:

I’m running for city council because our city needs to be thoughtful, inclusive, and rooted in the needs of every community that calls SeaTac home.

We have made meaningful strides in pursuit of our shared goals; almost doubling our capacity for childcare, launching important economic development programs, building housing of all kinds, signaling our strong intent to protect North SeaTac Park from port development, and so much more.

I’ll champion pragmatic policies that deliver tangible results for all our residents: increasing our stock of aff ordable and middle housing, creating safety in our neighborhoods, refusing to allow our residents to shoulder additional tax burdens, and protecting our natural amenities and parks. I’m proud to be endorsed by: The 33rd Legislative District Democrats, Mayor Mohamed Egal, Councilmember Jake Simpson, Councilmember James Lovell, and dozens of parents, workers, community leaders, and more. I’d love to earn your support.

Statement:

My life has been defined by service—to my country, my community, and my neighbors. I’m running for SeaTac Council to continue that commitment. A proud King County resident since 1961, I’ve lived in SeaTac for over a decade and served in leadership roles throughout my life, from Sergeant First Class in the Washington Army National Guard to President of the Bow Lake Homeowners Association.

As a small business owner and security advisor, I understand the importance of safety, economic growth, and local empowerment. During the pandemic, I led a homeless engagement assessment project to connect vulnerable individuals with vital services. I’ve also led efforts to help businesses reduce losses and increase profitability through innovative security solutions, including drone technology.

I'll use my professional and life experiences to make SeaTac even better than it is today. Please help me to achieve this goal. Vote Michael Sanford for SeaTac Council.
