GENERAL 2025
City of Sammamish
Council Position No. 7
Debbie Treen
1825 E LAKE SAMMAMISH PKWY SE
SAMMAMISH, WA 98075

Sammamish is at a turning point, and I’m ready to lead with integrity, experience, and results. As a former Mayor, retired CFO, long-time resident and mom, I’ve solved tough problems, managed complex budgets, and fought for what matters.
I support the 2000-unit Town Center plan, but oppose doubling to 4000 with high-rise buildings. This dense growth would overwhelm our infrastructure and forever change Sammamish. We face regressive taxes, budget shortfalls, and overdevelopment that threatens our roads, schools, environment, and quality of life. Developers get incentives with little public benefit, while residents are shut out of key decisions.
I’ll fight for smart, sustainable growth, fiscal discipline, and transparent leadership that puts residents first, not special interests. Sammamish deserves professional leaders who understand both numbers and neighborhoods, protect our natural environment, and honor our community’s character. It’s time for accountable, balanced leadership with proven results. It’s time for change. Elect Debbie Treen.

As your Mayor and Councilmember, we’ve improved roads, upgraded ballfields, added stringent stormwater standards, and updated critical area ordinances to protect wetlands and wildlife. I’m proud of our new Climate Action and Sustainability Plans, Transportation and Transit Master Plans, and the Housing Diversification Plan. I’m running for re-election to continue the progress we’ve made in just three years.
My vision for Sammamish is to remain safe, beautiful, welcoming, and environmentally and fiscally sustainable for the long term. I’m committed to keeping Sammamish livable, with diverse housing and retail, and efficient connections to jobs, schools, businesses, and open spaces. With attainable housing options for teachers, first-responders, young families, and retirees, we can build a future where everyone has access to amenities and a high quality of life.
Endorsements: Sierra Club/WA, Planned Parenthood, KC Democrats, and over 30 state senators, representatives, mayors, and councilmembers. Boards: Eastside Fire, KC Emergency Management, Regional Transit.
