Occupation: Communications Director, Microsoft. Former journalist and high school math teacher.
Statement:

I grew up in Sammamish, graduated from Eastlake, and now I’m raising my kids here. Sammamish consistently ranks among best places to live. I’m running to ensure we not only protect that reputation, but continue to thrive so that seniors, working families, and the next generation can keep calling it home.

As a teen, I founded the Sammamish Youth Board to give students a voice in shaping City policies. Recently, I established the Sammamish Independent, our only newspaper. Both experiences reinforced my belief in the power of ambitious residents coming together to fill community needs. We need city leadership that matches our ambitions.

I’ll put our residents’ needs first by improving affordability, growing local businesses, investing in community spaces, reducing power outages, and protecting our environment. Let’s build a thriving Sammamish together. Endorsements: 5th/41st/45th Democrats. Sierra Club, MLK Labor, Eastside Business Alliance. Senators Dhingra, Hunt. County Councilmembers Perry, Balducci, Zahilay.

Statement:

I’ve proudly called Sammamish home for 30 years where my wife and I raised our two sons. Now, however, affordability and maintaining quality of life has become a difficult proposition for many. I am running to ensure that all residents, regardless of life stage, can thrive.

My career has been one of analysis, problem solving and leadership. As Sammamish is facing major financial, growth and environmental challenges, I will bring my decades of career experience to bear. My obligation is to our citizens, not special interests or those who are not yet here. Listening, representation, and trust in our residents are my commitments.

We cannot tax or build our way to prosperity. Fiscal responsibility is paramount. We must preserve the natural beauty and unique character of Sammamish. Decisions and investments must serve the public good of all residents. I promise to pursue prosperity, preservation and public good in every action.
