GENERAL 2025
City of Lake Forest Park
Council Position No. 3
Eight years ago, my family moved to LFP for leafy, walkable neighborhoods. I started volunteering and serving in PTA leadership at my kids’ schools. I joined the parks board to speak for my neighbors and my values as a conservation scientist. Now I’m running to fulfill the promise of a city in balance with nature, grow retail and boost city revenue, and apply the community’s creativity to our greatest challenges, including affordability and climate change.
Together, let’s enhance our quality of life, environment, and budget: Permit neighborhood cafés/shops; build affordable homes between the trees, where kids can move back and elders can downsize; add car-free links to transit; make space on roadways for people, trees, strollers, bikes, benches, and play.
Endorsed: King County Democrats and leaders including: Senators Stanford, Salomon; Representatives Duerr, Kloba; Councilmembers and mayors in LFP, Shoreline, Kenmore, Bothell, Woodinville; Shoreline Firefighters union; LFP neighbors; more at JoshForLFP.com.
As your Councilmember, I have prioritized public safety, fiscal responsibility, and environmental stewardship. I sponsored pedestrian safety improvements and supported efforts to ensure our police have the resources they need to keep our community safe. As Budget Committee Chair, I helped deliver a transparent, balanced budget that meets your needs. I believe we must manage existing funds wisely before asking you to pay more.
I grew up in Lake Forest Park and moved back with my young family in 2009. With experience as an architect, former Planning Commission Chair, and now Councilmember, I've listened to your concerns and worked collaboratively to shape policies that support equitable, environmentally sensitive development while preserving LFP’s unique character.
I bring energy, effective listening and collaborative decision-making to the Council. As a lifelong Democrat, I am committed to a responsive, forward-thinking government that reflects our shared values. I would be honored to earn your vote.
