Statement:

Kirkland is a precious community worth preserving.   I am deeply connected with 10+ years of volunteer experience, e.g., appointed to City committees, a Neighborhood Association Board Member, and a contributor to City planning documents.  I founded a youth-serving nonprofit in 2018.  We raised our kids here in public schools.  My professional career managing large teams and budgets taught me fiscal discipline and leadership.

I will lead the change to a resident-focused, responsive, transparent, and sensible City Council.  I led the successful fight against the 2023 pool/rec center forever tax because it was a terrible deal for taxpayers.  I will vote for improvements to transportation and parks, against new tall and closely-packed buildings in residential neighborhoods, and to limit high density to areas that have supporting services and transportation.

My goal is to recover Kirkland from years of unwelcome planning decisions.  I’m endorsed by neighborhood, business, and City leaders across Kirkland.

Statement:

I serve because I love Kirkland! As a community, we’ve expanded parks, trails, bike lanes, and open space; deepened our commitment to public safety with new fire stations and the finest first responders; established Washington’s first regional behavioral-health responder agency; and much more. We’re thoughtfully planning for housing that working families can afford and continuing to invest in improved infrastructure.

My family has lived in Kirkland for nearly 30 years. I'm committed to sound governance, fiscal responsibility, transparency, thoughtful decisions, and results. I’ll continue to work to ensure we’re moving Kirkland forward as Washington’s most vibrant and livable city. I appreciate your vote!

Endorsements: Congresswoman DelBene; King County Democrats, King County Young Democrats; Alliance for Gun Responsibility; Sierra Club; Washington Conservation Action; Eastside Business Alliance; Affordable Housing Council; Planned Parenthood; both of Kirkland’s County Councilmembers, Balducci and Dembowski; former State Senator Kuderer; eight of Kirkland’s State Legislators; and many more.
