GENERAL 2025
City of Issaquah
Council Position No. 7
In Issaquah, the people who live here can't work here, and the people who work here can't live here. Because we have inadequate workforce housing and living wage jobs.
For workforce housing, I will continue to insist (as I have since first being elected in 2009) that we only allow additional housing in the valley, where we have services and transportation, and that we require a mix of price points that include housing that is affordable for our police officers, fire fighters, and teachers.
For living wage jobs, I will continue to push (as I have since first being elected in 2009) for C-level engagement and economic development agreements that bring major employers into the valley, where they can provide great jobs and a secondary service market to our city.
