Thank you for considering me to continue as your Enumclaw Council Position #5 representative for my third term. I have lived in Enumclaw with my wife, 4 children and grandparents since 2016. In that time, I've enjoyed being an active member of the community including board member for the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce, Enumclaw Schools Foundation, and Sunrise Elementary PTA.
As a local Enumclaw small business owner my biggest priority is to maintain the small town charm that I believe makes Enumclaw special. Many new candidates don't comprehend that, while we're limited by state regulations on how we approach applications for new building projects, our opportunities to make a difference happens in setting our local building code regulations and requirements. That experinece and understanding is why I feel I am the best candidate to help keep Enumclaw the wonderful small town that it currently is.
Residing in Enumclaw for the last 30 years, I have seen many changes within our community. Of the many positive changes to our community, there has also been a vast explosion of growth that will not sustain at the rate we are expanding. Growth is inevitable, yet by limiting it to a reasonable threshold, we can expand without jeopardizing our community. I will fight to maintain the integrity, safety and autonomy of our town while limiting over development within our city limits. Over those 30 years my wife and I, having grown up on the plateau, would like to preserve Enumclaw's rural sensibilities. Communities around us have seen major expansion along with national chain businesses come in and homogenize these once unique areas. My mission is to maintain Enumclaw's rural feel while continuing to support our local family businesses and farmers within our beloved town.
