Statement:

We’ve all heard it for as long as we can remember: Des Moines is full of potential. We’re told to be patient. To trust the politicians. But year after year, the same priorities return, and the same problems remain.

I’ve lived here 20 years. I know what this city could be. But potential doesn’t staff the police department or restore animal services. It doesn’t connect neighborhoods, attract businesses, or help working families raise successful kids. With serious financial pressures mounting, we can’t afford to keep missing opportunities.

It’s time to refocus—not just on the marina district, but on the whole city. That starts with a clear plan to grow stable revenue and end crisis budgeting. My profession is building transparency and trust into systems that work. I’m not a politician; I’m a problem-solver ready to turn our city’s potential into reality. I’d be honored to earn your vote.

Education: J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law; B.A. from San Diego State University
Occupation: Des Moines Deputy Mayor, City Council Member. Attorney. Former Judge.
Statement:

Des Moines has faced challenges since 2022: leadership changes, budget shortfalls, and impacts from the pandemic. As your Deputy Mayor and city council member, I’ve worked to protect essential services like policing, while balancing the budget responsibly. I’ve focused on transparency, accountability, and results for our community.

We’re investing in building a stronger future: revitalizing downtown, improving the permit process, and updating projects like Marina Steps and the Redondo Pier to be both community-focused and cost-effective.

I’m proud to be endorsed by the 33rd LD Democrats, Senator Karen Keiser, Representative Tina Orwall, Lands Commissioner Dave Upthegrove, LiUNA 242, and many local leaders. All of whom believe in my commitment to community, public safety, and responsible leadership.  I’d be honored to continue serving you and working to make our city safer, more connected, and more responsive to the people who call it home. I respectfully ask for your vote.
